The Challenge
The University of Huddersfield School of Design Technology has
three 3D design courses that focus on general product, industrial,
and transportation design. They were previously using AutoCAD,
Form Z, and 3D Studio, but these packages all involved long and
difficult learning curves. They needed easy-to-use design software
ideal for teaching the power of solid modeling.
The Solution
The University of Huddersfield School of Design Technology chose
SolidWorks software for its ease-of-use and its ability to provide
quick, easy, and excellent renderings. SolidWorks also provides
easy sketching capabilities. The students enjoy using SolidWorks
because of its quick rendering ability, provding easy lighting
and logical scene settings. For integrated applications, they
chose COSMOSWorks for their FEA solution.
