Commercial fitness equipment manufacturer's product lines nearly doubled

The Challenge
Life Fitness, the leader in commercial fitness equipment for over 20 years, manufactures and distributes a wide range of interactive training systems which can be seen in health clubs and private homes worldwide. Because of the competitiveness of the commercial fitness market, Life Fitness brainstormed and created a new machine which would be able to generate excitement and outperform all competitors’ offerings for an upcoming trade show. The challenge for Life Fitness was to synthesize the combination of form and function. Yet, at that time, the company’s primary design tool limited the designers' ability to model and make changes to the details of key components. In order to meet its goals, Life Fitness sought a program that would allow them to both maximize the abilities of the design staff and shorten design time.

The Solution
After trying and comparing various software products, Life Fitness picked SolidWorks and COSMOSWorks for their ease-of-use and affordability. With their intuitive Windows interface, SolidWorks and COSMOSWorks aided the design team at Life Fitness to become productive at once. Now the design team uses SolidWorks and COSMOSWorks for their projects, enabling the company to bring products to market faster and create and analyze designs containing large consumer appeal. Consequently, after opting to use SolidWorks and COSMOSWorks, several of Life Fitness' main product lines have nearly doubled.
