The Challenge
Eddie Sturman, co-founder of Sturman Industries, located in Woodland
Park, Colorado, invented the technology used in today's Sturman
Valve for the Apollo space program. By replacing valves that use
constant energy to hold them open, with magnetically latching,
electronically controlled valves, energy in the system was reduced
by only being needed to open or close the valves.
The Solution
Steve Massey is a mechanical engineer who conducts a wide variety
of analysis and engineering support for Sturman's design team
and had been searching for a product like COSMOSFloWorks for months.
"There is another engineer on staff who is an analysis expert
and who spends virtually all of his time conducting CFD simulations
with Star CD. My primary responsibility is design and I was immediately
drawn to COSMOSFloWorks when I saw it because all I want to do
is design verification rather than spend all day setting up a
simple flow problem."
|
"I
would say that COSMOSFloWorks has definitely paid for
itself ten times over."
Steve Massey, Mechanical Engineer
